MECHANICAL PROPERTIES Texture is medium; grain is straight to irregular; luster is high; without distinct odor or taste. Bright yellow color is very distinct.
WORKING PROPERTIES Works easily with hand and power tools. Slight blunting effect on cutters.
DURABILITY Somewhat durable and has natural resistance to decay.
SEASONING Seasons well with little tendency to checking.
USES Decorative veneer, inlay, marquetry.
COMMENTS Yellowheart is a common trade name given to several species.
