DESCRIPTION | Anigre heartwood is cream to tan with a pinkish tinge. Grain is usually straight, sometimes wavy. It's texture is medium to coarse in lighter grades and fine in heavier grades. The wood is lustrous, with a cedar-like scent and is silicious. Weight varies from about 30lbs to 36lbs per cu. ft. |

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES | Medium bending strength and compression. Medium bending characteristics |
WORKING PROPERTIES | Moderate to severe blunting effect on cutters due to silica content. Good nailing, screwing, gluing and staining characteristics. Polishes to a very good finish. |
DURABILITY | Non-resistant to termites. Heartwood is perishable, but permeable to preservative treatment. |
SEASONING | Dries rapidly with no checking or twisting, but susceptible to blue stain in early stages of air drying. Small movement. |
USES | Furniture, cabinet work, high-class joinery, general utility and interior purposes, plywood, veneering. |
COMMENTS | Precautions need to be taken when cutting to avoid tear out or chipping. |

I really like the color of Anigre Lumber the golden tan color of the lumber makes the lumber stand apart from other exotic lumber on the market.
